Kathleen Chalfant is a Tony-nominated actor in theatre, film, and television.  She was in the original company of Angels in America and the New York premiere of Margaret Edson’s Wit.  Recent work includes starring as Ruth in Sarah Friedland’s Familiar Touch, for which she won the 2024 Venice Orizzonti Award for Best Actress and was named Best Actress by the National Society of Film Critics, and appearing Off-Broadway in Pen Pals in 2025 and The Dinosaurs in 2026.  Ms. Chalfant has an honorary doctorate from Cooper Union, was a 2011-2012 Artist-in-Residence at The New School, and has served with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Vineyard Theatre, NYFA, Doctors Without Borders, and Friends of The Jenin Freedom Theatre.
