Mitha Choudbury serves as Program Director of the EMPOWER Center of New York, a multidisciplinary hub supporting survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. Her career spans survivor advocacy in the UK and U.S. Ms. Choudbury conducts outreach, facilitates training on sexual exploitation, and leads coercion resiliency workshops with survivors to expose the tactics traffickers and media use to manipulate their victims. Since 2022, together with a coalition of survivors and anti-trafficking organizations, she has spearheaded communications with New Yorkers for the Equality Model, a legal framework that prioritizes the rights of those who have been exploited while holding buyers and exploiters accountable for the harm they cause, through the launching of video campaigns like End Demand, End Sex Trafficking with Terry Crews and Can Money Buy Consent? with Ashley Judd.
