In 2013, Lee Daniels’ The Butler was released to rave reviews and went on to become a worldwide box office hit.  Lee Daniels’ other film directing credits include the critically acclaimed Precious, for which he received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture and Best Director, The Paperboy, Shadowboxer, and The Deliverance.  Through Lee Daniels Entertainment, which he founded in 2001, Mr. Daniels also produced Monster’s Ball.  He is also co-creator, executive producer, and director of the television series Empire and Star, an executive producer of The Ms. Pat Show, and a Broadway producer whose ‘Ain’t No Mo’ work brought him a 2023 Tony Award nomination for Best Play as a producer.
