Mylan Denerstein

Mylan Denerstein is a litigation partner at the law firm of Gibson Dunn, Co-Partner-in-Charge of its New York office, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Public Policy Practice Group.  She also serves as the court-appointed NYPD Monitor overseeing implementation of stop, frisk, and search reforms.  Previously, Ms. Denerstein served as Counsel to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.  In this capacity, Ms. Denerstein was the chief architect of the Women’s Equality Act, which included the Governor’s most comprehensive effort to strengthen New York’s anti-human trafficking laws.  A graduate of Columbia Law School, Ms. Denerstein has also served as the Executive Deputy Attorney General in New York for Social Justice and as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
