A former mechanical engineer, Cristian Eduardo is today a prominent advocate, speaker, and educator dedicated to advancing the rights of immigrants, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, and survivors of human trafficking. A queer Mexican immigrant and survivor of trafficking living with HIV, his advocacy is profoundly shaped by lived experience, fueling his fight against stigma and systemic inequity. As the Chair of the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking, Mr. Eduardo advises the President’s Interagency Task Force on federal policies, and works to ensure that anti-trafficking efforts are survivor-led and trauma-informed. He also serves on the NYC HIV Planning Group to offer up integrated prevention and care strategies. As an independent consultant, Mr. Eduardo provides training and technical assistance nationwide at the intersection of migration, trauma, and mental health. He holds leadership roles as a Survivor Leader at New Yorkers for the Equality Model and Co-Chair of the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition. Mr. Eduardo has received numerous honors, including the 2023 NJ Freedom Award and the 2025 Liberator Award Survivor of the Year.
