Kirsten Gillibrand
U.S. Senator from New York; Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
Kirsten Gillibrand is the U.S. Senator from New York and Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. She was first sworn in as United States senator from New York State in January 2009, and has won election or reelection in 2010, 2012, 2018, and 2024. From fighting to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” to providing health care and compensation for 9/11 first responders, to tackling sexual assault in the military and on college campuses, Senator Gillibrand has created unique bipartisan coalitions. She is also a leading voice for paid family leave, affordable childcare, and anti-trafficking relief, including the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act signed into law in 2026.
“When we fight back against human trafficking, we hold dangerous criminals accountable, give victims a sense of justice, help them put their lives back together, and keep more New Yorkers safe.”
