Molly Gochman

Social Practice Artist; Human Rights Activist; Founder, Red Sand Project

Molly Gochman considers both her work as a social practice artist and her human rights advocacy as a means to encourage questioning, communication, and empathy. In 2014, Ms. Gochman created Red Sand Project, a multi-faceted art project, to raise awareness about human trafficking.  The project comprises earthwork installations, participatory sidewalk interventions, and convenings—all of which provide opportunities to question, connect, and take action to end modern-day slavery. Ms. Gochman’s broader practice includes public work on care, borders, migration, and sex exploitation.

“We have the power to end this atrocity if we are vigilant in addressing vulnerabilities and inciting progressive cultural change.”
