Lauren Hersh

Lauren Hersh has dedicated her career to combating violence against women and girls, both in the USA and globally.  An internationally recognized activist focused on gender-based violence and exploitation in schools, online, and the legal arena, Ms. Hersh is the CEO and Co-Founder of World Without Exploitation.  For eight years earlier in her career, Ms. Hersh served as a prosecutor, including as Chief of the Sex Trafficking Unit at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where she implemented victim-based strategies to investigate and prosecute traffickers.  As New York State Director of Equality Now, Ms. Hersh ran the organization’s global anti-trafficking program, and she later served as Director of Anti-Trafficking Policy and Advocacy at Sanctuary for Families.  A 2016 recipient of New York Law Journal’s Rising Stars Award, she and Rachel Foster were also named to the TIME100 list for their advocacy with Epstein survivors and survivor-driven reforms.
