LaTanya Richardson Jackson

Actor; Director; Producer

An accomplished actor, director, and producer of stage and screen, LaTanya Richardson Jackson received a 2025 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Claudine Jasper in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s Purpose, which won the 2025 Tony Award for Best Play and the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.  She previously received critical praise and a Tony Award nomination for the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun, starred in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero, and had a recurring role on Blue Bloods.  Ms. Jackson also  directed the 2022 Broadway revival of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson and produced the 2023-24 Broadway revival of Purlie Victorious.  She and her husband, Samuel L. Jackson, established the Samuel L. & LaTanya R. Jackson Foundation, and Ms. Jackson serves as Vice Chair of the American Theatre Wing.
