Survivor of Sex Trafficking; Survivor Leader and Mentor; Anti-Human Trafficking Consultant
Ebony Jones
Ebony Jones is a survivor of five years of sex trafficking and prostitution that began when she was 18 years old. Ms. Jones grew up in a home with domestic violence and alcoholism, her mother herself having survived prostitution. Ms. Jones was sexually and physically abused as a child and eventually placed in foster care. As a passionate woman who believes her success is greater than her past experiences, Ms. Jones now advocates for girls and women who have been sexually exploited.
“Prostitution is the choice of no choices. Is it really a choice if you have financial instability, have been abused, and/or feel undesirable? If you weigh the options of a person in prostitution, there is always an underlying reason for the choice of engaging in the life of prostitution, no matter your age. Transparency is the purest form of helping others. Don’t hide from your truth; everyone is a survivor of something. You can use your story to help many. One victim is one too many.”
