A longstanding leader and passionate champion in the fight against sex trafficking, former U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney co-chaired the Congressional Human Trafficking Caucus, where among her many achievements, she secured bipartisan support for legislation to curb the demand for sex trafficking by targeting pimps and johns.  She also introduced the Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Deterrence and Victim Support bill, which takes a multi-disciplinary approach to shutting down child trafficking in the United States, and co-authored and helped secure passage of bipartisan legislation to curb the demand for sex trafficking.  After serving in Congress from 1993 to 2023, Representative Carolyn Maloney became an Eleanor Roosevelt Distinguished Leader in Residence at Hunter College’s Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute, Founder and CEO of ERA NOW, Founder of Sign4ERA, and a powerful advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment.
