Katrina Massey
Survivor of Sex Trafficking; Realtor and Restaurateur; Victim’s Advocate; Mentor; Speaker; Advisor on Sex Trafficking
After escaping years of exploitation in the commercial sex industry as a teenager and young adult in Atlanta and New York, Katrina Massey is today a very successful real estate broker and restaurateur who uses her experiences to inspire those affected by sex-trafficking to find balance, inspiration, and progression beyond their trauma. In her decades of service as a victim’s advocate and expert speaker on the commercial sexual exploitation of children, Ms. Massey is often tapped by law enforcement, social service agencies, juvenile court systems, and families to provide invaluable insight in the development of treatment, training, and awareness projects and changes in laws on the local and national front. As an entrepreneur, Ms. Massey has also partnered with numerous ventures to help employ survivors and implement mentorship programs, including the Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign, Sanctuary for Families, the Coalition Against the Trafficking of Women, Runaway Girl, and the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Being of service is Ms. Massey’s passion. In all she does, she leads with compassion.
“Sex trafficking of children is happening here and now. The victims are largely members from our community and it falls on us, the community, to eradicate this scourge. Demand reduction and prevention are critical, as are services for victims. No child should feel trapped by the horrors and trauma of trafficking.”
