Former U.S. Representative Kathleen Rice

Former U.S. Representative for New York’s 4th Congressional District

Kathleen Rice served as the United States Representative for New York’s Fourth Congressional District from January 3, 2015 to January 3, 2023, and previously served as the District Attorney of Nassau County, New York — the first woman elected District Attorney in Long Island’s history.  Known for her innovative, tough, and smart-on-crime initiatives, Ms. Rice effectively prosecuted perpetrators of crimes of gender violence and focused on ensuring protection and justice for victims of sex trafficking.  During her Nassau County DA tenure, Ms. Rice’s pioneering anti-demand efforts to deter sex trafficking by holding sex industry buyers criminally accountable became a national model.

“Sex trafficking victims need help and support, not criminal punishment.  That’s why I established a special human trafficking part in Nassau County to help women and punish those who exploit them.”
