Dr. Susan Smalley
Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry; Founding Director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center, University of California, Los Angeles
Dr. Susan Smalley’s work as a scientist includes seminal studies on the genetics of autism and ADHD and research on mindfulness as a key to wellbeing. Professor Emerita of Psychiatry at UCLA, she founded the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center to bring mindfulness practices to the public through research and education. Dr. Smalley also co-founded the UCLA Bedari Kindness Institute and chairs its Executive Committee. As an emeritus board member of Equality Now, she has worked to see laws changed to give women and girls equal rights everywhere.
