Per-Anders Sunesson

Former Swedish Ambassador at Large for Combating Trafficking in Persons; Attorney

For more than 25 years, Per-Anders Sunesson has worked in both Sweden and internationally to address human rights, social and criminal policy, children’s rights, legislation, and welfare systems.  From 2016 to 2021, Mr. Sunesson served as Sweden’s Ambassador at Large for Combating Trafficking in Persons, with a mandate to cover all forms of human trafficking, including sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, and he later served briefly as state secretary to Sweden’s Minister for Health.  Previously, Mr. Sunesson held legal and policy roles at Sweden’s Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and worked on supervision of health care and social services at Sweden’s National Board of Health and Welfare.
