The Late Kenneth Thompson

Former Brooklyn (Kings County) District Attorney

As Brooklyn District Attorney, Kenneth Thompson supervised over 500 prosecutors and ran one of the largest District Attorney’s Offices in the country.  Prior to becoming DA, Mr. Thompson served as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn and then co-founded Thompson Wigdor LLP.  In 2011, after her case had been dropped by prosecutors, Mr. Thompson successfully represented Nafissatou Diallo, the hotel housekeeper who reported having been sexually assaulted in a Manhattan hotel room by Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund. As Brooklyn DA, Mr. Thompson also expanded and strengthened his Human Trafficking Unit and established a nationally noted Conviction Review Unit.  Mr. Thompson died on October 9, 2016, at the age of 50.
